PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

This is the development of fine motor skills for example; the pincer grip needed to hold a pencil correctly and gross motor skills for example; climbing and riding a bike. We provide fine motor boards, threading, bikes and scooters, balancing beams and building blocks of all shapes and sizes.

PERSONAL, SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This supports children to learn to get on with others and make friends, understand feelings and learn about 'right' and 'wrong', develop independence and ultimately feel good about themselves. We believe we can give them the belief that they can be whatever they want to be and change the world even a tiny bit.

We provide a role play area which supports this area of development.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE

This is the development of vocabulary and developing the confidence and ability to become skilled communicators.

We provide opportunities to develop language skills in all ages We have an area specifically set out for children to explore speaking, we have a roleplay phone for children to use to speak to others at any time they wish.

LITERACY

This means talking about books, print in the environment, early mark making and writing, as well as sharing books and reading. We provide a special area dedicated to reading and literacy. We also give the children the opportunity to learn phonic sounds and letter shapes before they start school.

PROBLEM SOLVING, REASONING & NUMERACY

The opportunity to express feelings and understanding through music and crafts. We provide ample opportunity to explore music and sounds as well as making their own instruments. We allow free play at the craft table for children to make whatever they desire to take home.

EXPRESSIVE ARTS & DESIGN

KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD

This is the understanding of the world around them; the daily routines of home life and the way other people live. We provide opportunities to learn about other countries and the differences in other cultures.
